We are looking for people who eat breakfast while reading newest Medium articles. People who don’t give up until the last piece of architecture or code is written. People who shed a tear when a solution gets deployed into production for the first time. People who would rather see the latest presentations on kubernetes, .Net or cloud technology rather than watching Netflix. People who find it interesting to discover that the average lifespan of a Docker container is a mere two days. Last, but not least, people who combine all those interests into creating value for the amazing world of technology @Elkjøp.  

The retail industry in Norway is under transformation, and Elkjøp is fully committed to lead that transformation. This is where we need you! We need more talented developers/senior developers to join our team in the IT Digital Services (ITDS) to help us stay competitive and lead the transformation in the retail industry. 

In this job, you would: 

  • Work with latest .Net frameworks and Microsoft Azure technologies to build modern and highly available business critical services 
  • Evaluate and design future architecture and technology 
  • Support the continuous improvement in our existing microservices 


All development, integration and deployment are automated using Azure DevOps. We are 100% in Azure where we use everything from Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Service Bus to Cosmos DB. 

Today we are more than 20 developers, both internal and external, and we are growing to take an even larger stake at Elkjøp. When joining ITDS you will become a major contributor in the team with the possibility to define and impact the department’s future and culture. We are bold enough to say that we have a common vision to create Norway’s (if not Scandinavia’s) most exciting IT-department.  

We are looking for persons who want to work with the technology on a bigger scale. You would still write and review code, but also collaborate with business to create best value for Elkjøps daily business while doing the best technical choices for the long term. We can accommodate for more junior developers interested in seeing a broader picture or more senior developers/architects who wants to just jump right into it. None of us know everything, and we learn from our work and others every day! The important part is an attitude and passion for learning and solving problems.

You are open-minded, flexible and inquiring and gives new approaches a try instead of adhering to conventional issues.
